SINHA SEVA VANITHA BRANCH AGM WAS HELD AT RC SLSR AMBEPUSSSA

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSR-SVB) was held on 30 January 2022 under the patronage of the Colonel of the Regiment SLSR and Commander Security Force (West), Major General Kithsiri Liyanage, at the main auditorium, Regimental Centre SLSR, Ambepussa, while adhering all the health precautions and guidelines stipulated to prevent COVID-19 outbreak.

The AGM presided over by, Mrs. Darshani Liyanageand, the President of the Sinha Seva Vanitha Branch was attended by the Executive Committee and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch.

The event was ceremonially commenced right after the Seva Vanitha Anthem followed by a two-minute silence in a solemn moment of gratitude venerated in memory of fallen SLSR War Heroes who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the motherland. After Mrs. Darshani Liyanage delivered the welcome speech.

During this AGM, new members were appointed to the committee. Meanwhile, six scholarships were given to the children of SLSR War Heroes for their outstanding performances, and among them were Vihanga Nimsara Bandara who got through the Grade 5 scholarship examination, four others Chamithu Geesath Bandara, Kavishka Shehara Manujaya, Sachini Sadareka, M.J.K.N Rathnayake who have achieved 9-A Passes at the G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination in 2021, and Nipuni Kaushalya who had got selected to the University.

This was followed by the tabling minutes of the previous AGM by the Secretary, Mrs. Jeewani Wimalasena, and continued the AGM.

On completion of the proceedings of the meeting, Mrs. Darshani Liyanage together with the members of the Seva Vanitha Branch hosted the lunch for all Seva Vanitha members present at the Regiment on the day of AGM.
