The Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment the one and only most experienced elite Rifle Regiment in Sri Lanka Army, organizes ‘Sinha Mela Education Trade and Musical Extravaganza’ a fund raising project annually in order to assist differently abled war heroes and their families. It had been scheduled to be held on a grand scale at the Public Ground- Warakapola on the 3rd , 4th and 5th of April 2020 and it was cancelled as per the rules and the regulation of the Government of Sri Lanka due to Covid – 19 pandemic situations prevailing in the country.
The ceremony of the Raffle lottery draw was held on 31st July 2020 - at the Main Auditorium of Regimental Centre of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment at Ambepussa. Commander Security Force – West and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR Major General Jayantha Seneviratne graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Veteran actress Mrs. Susila Kottage and Mr. Rahal Bulathsinhala entertained the audience together with SLSR cultural team.
The Center Commandant, Commanding Officers, Limited numbers of senior Officers, Staff Officers and Other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment participated in the event. Additionally, among those who attended the ceremony, there were important persons of Warakapola and Mirigama areas as well.
