Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment bid farewell to outgoing Colonel of the Regiment Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc on 2nd December 2017 who retired after serving more than 36 years in the regular force of the Sri Lanka Army. Ceremony was held its customary way at Regimental Headquarters Ambepussa.
The commencement of the ceremony marked by Guard Turnout and Ceremonial parade in honour of the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment.
The event followed by paying obeisance to the fallen SLSR war heroes at the Regiment Monument, tea party at WOs’ & Sgts’ Mess and planting a tree sapling in customary manner.
The day’s event also textured with the farewell lunch and a Mess Night which was held 1st time at Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in honour of outgoing Colonel of the Regiment.
Outgoing Colonel of the Regiment Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc commented in his speeches at the Ceremonial Parade, WOs’ & Sgts’ Mess tea party, farewell lunch and at the farewell mess night, that extending his heartfelt gratitude for the sonorous assistance offered by many ways by all officers and other ranks during his military career.
