RETIRING MAJOR GENERAL MAM DIAS RWP RSP VSV USP psc ACCORDED MILITARY SALUTE
Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment bid farewell to its outgoing Major General MAM Dias RWP RSP VSV USP psc on 5th March 2016 who retired after serving more than 34 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army. Ceremony was held in its customary way at Regimental Headquarters, Ambepussa.
The commencement of the ceremony marked by All Regular and Volunteer Units accorded the Guard Turnout and Regimental Parade in honour of the Senior Sinha Regiment Officer.
The event followed by paying obeisance to the fallen SLSR war heroes at the Regiment Monument, tea party at WOs\' and Sgts\' Mess & planting a tree sapling in customary manner.
The day\'s event also textured with the Farewell Lunch hosted in honour of the outgoing Major General by all Officers of the Regiment at the Officers\' Mess.
Major General MAM Dias RWP RSP VSV USP psc commented in his speeches at the Regimental Parade, WOs\' and Sgts\' Mess tea party and Farewell Lunch, that extending his heartfelt gratitude for the generous assistance offered by many ways by all Officers and Other Ranks during his military career.
