Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment bid a farewell to its outgoing Major General Kapila Bandara Udalupola RSP on 22 November 2019 who retired upon serving more than 34 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army.
In honor of the outgoing Major General, a Ceremony was held in its customary way at Regimental Centre, Ambepussa. A Guard Turnout and a ceremonial parade presented to the Major General Kapila Bandara Udalupola by the troops of Sinha Regiment.
The event followed by paying obeisance to the fallen SLSR war heroes at the Regimental Monument and tea party at WOs’ and Sgts' Mess in keeping with Regimental traditions.
The evening session also textured with the “Guess Night” hosted to the outgoing Senior Officer by all Officers of the Sinha Regiment at the Officers' Mess. In his speech Major General Kapila Bandara Udalupola commented that extending his heartfelt gratitude for the generous assistance offered many ways by all Officers and Other Ranks during his military career. Senior Officers, Officers and respected ladies of the Officers participated for the event.
