Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment bid farewell to outgoing Colonel of the Regiment Major General AP de Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc on 2nd September 2018 who retired after serving more than 35 years in the regular force of the Sri Lanka Army. Ceremony was held its customary way at Regimental Headquarters Ambepussa.
The commencement of the ceremony marked by Guard Turnout and Ceremonial parade in honour of the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment.
The event followed by paying obeisance to the fallen SLSR war heroes at the Regiment Monument, tea party at WOs’ & Sgts’ Mess and planting a tree sapling in customary manner.
The day’s event also textured with the lunch and a Guest Night which was held 2nd time at Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in honour of outgoing Colonel of the Regiment.
Outgoing Colonel of the Regiment Major General AP de Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc commented in his speeches at the Ceremonial Parade, WOs’ & Sgts’ Mess tea party, lunch and at the farewell Guest night, that extending his heartfelt gratitude for the sonorous assistance offered by many ways by all officers and other ranks during his military career.
