Newly Promoted Major General W.L.A.C Perera RWP RSP USP Felicitated

Major General W L A C Perera RWP RSP USP, Director General of Directorate of Movement who promoted to the rank of Major General after rendering a valuable service to the Sri Lanka Army as well as to the motherland was felicitated at the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Ambepussa on 12 January 2024.

According to military traditions, Colonel T B M R Kandekumbura RSP USP, Deputy Centre Commandant RC SLSR, welcomed the Chief Guest and invited him to review the Guard Turnout at the main entrance. Afterwards, he was accompanied by Brigadier C S Thibbotuge, Centre Commandant RC SLSR to receive the salute of the Guard of Honour. After a while, he was invited to plant a sapling to mark the significant day.

Afterwards, a floral tribute was paid at the War Heroes Monument in memory of all valiant Officers and Other Ranks of the SLSR who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland.

Later in the day, he has joined all ranks for refreshments where he shared a few thoughts with the attendees.

The event also textured with a lunch hosted in honor of the newly promoted Major General Anil Perera by all Officers at the Officers' Mess. A special memento was presented to Maj Gen W L A C Perera RWP RSP USP , by Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander Security Force (Wanni) and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR in honor of the well-deserved promotion to the prestigious position of Major General during the occasion.
