NEWLY APPOINTED COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT SLSR TAKES OVER DUTIES

Major General Jayantha Seneviratne took office as 13th Colonel of the Regiment of SLSR on Monday (18) May 2020 amid military formalities at the Regimental Centre, Ambepussa.

Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks joined with him to paying floral tributes to the War Hero monument as a mark of his recognition of the numerous sacrifices of late SLSR War Heroes.

Major General Jayantha Seneviratne amid religious blessings left his signature for an official document and symbolized the acceptance of his new office. All Staff Officers serving in the SLSR Regimental Centre were present at the auspicious inauguration of the new office.

Afterwards, he planted a ‘Mango’ sapling in the premises as a symbol of memory.

The day’s event also included an all rank tea arrangement at the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess and had chat with the troops and recalled his yesteryear memories.

Setting out his scope of work and duties, Major General Seneviratne addressed Officers and outlined the importance of working as a team for the progress of the organization while promoting its image.

Later, adding memories, to the event posed for a group photograph with the day’s protagonist. The day’s inauguration of the new office ended with ‘Lunch’ at Officers’ mess SLSR.

Senior Officers, their spouses, all staff Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during ceremony.
