The handing over ceremony of new house to the family of a fallen war hero was held at Hunupitiya, Wattala on December 2016.
The newly constructed house was presented to the war widow, Mrs. Vellupille Mano Dayalini, the wife of late Major A.H.M Marusu of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) who sacrificed his life during the Humanitarian Operation.
Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and Army Engineers offered labour for the construction of the house & financial assistance was given by the Sri Lanka Army.
Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Chairperson of the Ranaviru Seva Authority (RSA) Mrs. Anoma Fonseka, Colonel of the Regiment - SLSR & Commandant - SLAVF Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Army senior officers and family members of late Major AHM Marusu were present at the occasion.
