A new house was donated to a disabled War Hero of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment with the financial support of the Ministry of Defence with the consent of the Directorate of veterans’ affairs and Major General Hemantha Bandara, Commander Security Force (Wanni) and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR.
Major Prasanjana Matharaarachchi, currently working at the Regimental Centre Headquarter Battalion under medical ground, was seriously injured during Wanni Humanitarian Operation in Kilali due to a pressure bomb causing injuries to his right hand, face and right eye losing his vision.
The new house was handed over to Major Prasanjana Matharaarachchi during a simple ceremony on 15th of June 2021 with the participation of Colonel Dulith Perera, Deputy Centre Commandant SLSR, Lieutenant Colonel Sameera Dassanayake, Commanding Officer Regimental Centre Battalion, Senior Members and members of Sri Lanka Sinha Seva Vanitha Branch
