The Inter Regiment Annual Marathon Run - 2017 organized by the Sri Lanka Army Athletic Committee was on 11th March 2017 with over two hundred participants, representing all 24 Regiments. It was started from Handapangoda and ended near the Panagoda, gymnasium with covering approximately a distance of 21 km.
Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment won the overall championship of this Annual Marathon Run & the awarding ceremony was held at Panagoda, gymnasium. Major General Amal Karunasekara, Chairman Sri Lanka Army Athletic Committee, Major General PWB Jayasundara, Military Secretary and Major General PMR Bandara, Director General Sports of the Army graced the occasion as the chief guests.
