Four Felicitating Parades for Newly Promoted Major General in one day at Ambepussa

It was recorded in the annals of the Sinha Regiment history as rare spectacle of contemporary times, four newly-promoted SR Major General were hosted to grand felicitation on Monday (24) at the Regimental Centre SLSR at Ambepussa.

Newly promoted two star Major General Subashana Welikala, Major General Hemntha Bandara, Major Genral Indrajith Bandara, Major General Randula Hathnagoda and their families were warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant, Brigadier Ajith Pallawela and Secretary SLSR-SVU Mrs Padmini Pallawela on arrival at the venue on behalf of the Colonel of the Regiment SLSR. The Ceremony was commenced with a guard turnout and then Majors General were honoured by four separate Guard of Honours at the Parade ground. They also planted Saplings at Regimental Centre premises to mark this memorable occasion. Later, they paid tribute to the SR War Heroes Monument by placing floral wreaths.

Showing ties of strong bonds of brotherhood, all Ranks joined for a tea with newly-promoted Majors General at Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess,Regimental Centre Ambepussa.

The day's event concluded with the Lunch hosted in honour of the newly promoted Majors General by Colonel of the Regiment and all Officers at the Officers' Mess. They were offered best wishes by the Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Major General Manoj Mudannayake and give away mementos to mark the event of newly promoted Majors General.
