The laying of foundation stones for the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment cricket ground pavilion was held this morning at the Regimental centre Ambepussa on 25 February 2023.
Major General Priyantha Jayawardena,Quarter Master General and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR attended the event together with Major General Rohan Ponnamperuma, former General Officer Commanding 68 Division who is retiring from the Army after completing the service of more than 34 years.
Both senior Officers were welcomed by Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, Centre Commandant Regimental Centre SLSR and Colonel Vajira Amarasiri, Deputy Centre Commandant RHQ SLSR.
Afterwards, amidst religious rituals, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Major General Rohan Ponnamperuma and Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, laid foundation stones for the new pavilion at an auspicious minute.
A few senior officers including council members, officers and other ranks attend the venue.
