FAREWELL CEREMONY TO 17TH REGIMENTAL SERGEANT MAJOR
Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment bid farewell to its outgoing 17th Regimental Sergeant Major S/357821 WO 1 Y M Weerakoon Banda on 25th February 2016 who retired after serving more than 21 years in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army. Ceremony was held in its customary way at Regimental Headquarters, Ambepussa.
A Guard of Honour presented by SLSR troops to WO 1 Y M Weerakoon Banda at the Parade Grounds & paying tribute to the fallen SLSR war heroes at SLSR War Heroes Monument. After all Ranks tea party Brigadier BAL Rathnayake, Centre Commandant, SLSR presented a memento to WO1 YM Weerakoon Banda on behalf of the officers and Other Ranks of SLSR.
The day\'s event also textured with the Farewell Dinner hosted in honour of the outgoing Regimental Sergeant Major by Senior Non Commissioned Officers of the Regiment at the WO & Sgts\' Mess.
