Dry Ration packs and School Accessories Received by Needy Families in the 7 SLSR AOR

The low-income families living in the resettled villages of Bogaswewa I, Bogaswewa II, Namalgama, Selalihinigama, and Nandimithragama situated in the area of responsibility (AOR) of the 7 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), received 50 dry ration packs each worth of Rs.6,000/= on 29 March 2022 at a charming ceremony organized by the 7 SLSR.

Similarly, needy children of Bogaswewa Maha Vidyalaya also received 56 school bags filled with stationery items each worth of Rs.6,000/= at a ceremony which is held at Bogaswewa Vidyalaya on the same day

The event was initiated under the supervision of Major General Saman Liyanage, General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division.

Philanthropists of the Royal College Old Boys Association (OBA), Sri Jayawardenepura University OBA, and All Sri Lankan/Worldwide Friends Club have donated dry rations packs and school items for the event under their second phase of the ‘Athahitha - 2022’ programme.

The Chief Organizer, Prof. Prasad Lokubalasuriya, Mrs. Samanthi Wijewardena, and Mrs. D. C. M Illaperuma Arachchi participated in the ceremony representing their respective organization.

Brigadier G. P. P Kulathilake, Commander 561 Infantry Brigade, Colonel A. G. S. M. Perera, Commander 563 Infantry Brigade, Major P. A. C. D Wijesekara 2nd In Command 7 SLSR, and troops participated in the event.
