Commemorative Ceremony Honours Late Corporal Gamini Kularatne PWV

The 34th commemorative ceremony for the late Corporal Gamini Kularatne PWV, who valiantly sacrificed himself defending the Army camp at Elephant Pass on 14 July 1991, took place on 14 July 2025 at the monument dedicated to his memory.

Major General K A N Rasika Kumara ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) and Colonel Commandant of Corps of Engineer Services, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest, honoured Corporal Kularatne by lighting the eternal flame atop the monument and laying a floral wreath.

Major General A M C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc – General Officer Commanding of 54 Infantry Division, Brigadier H A I Perera RWP RSP USP ndc – Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks, Mrs. Y.G Juliet, mother of the late Corporal Gamini Kularatne PWV, and his family members also paid their respects, marking a solemn conclusion to the ceremony.
