Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP ndu psc officially took over the duties as Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 01st September 2012 in a brief ceremony held at the Rgimental Centre of Sinha Regiment at Ambepussa. He is the 7th Colonel of the Regiment of the Sinha Regiment and was appointed after Major General DRAB Jayatilake RWP RSP VSV USP Ldmc.
Major General Boniface Perera is an officer with an outstanding military career of 30 years who held many key appointments in the army including the Security Force Commander East and also a very good sportsman. Presently he is holding the appointment of Security Forces Commander Wanni in addition to the appointment of Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.
In the brief ceremony, The lighting of traditional oil lamp and the blessings of the Muslim , Hindu, Christian and Buddhist was given priority. New Col of the Regiment addressed a cross section of troops before he visited the ongoing projects of play ground, New firing Range and other construction project including the camp area. He had an informal discussions with Warrant Officers and Senior and Junior NCOs during the tea party held at the Other Rankers Mess.
