Brigadier Chaminda Tibbotuge assumed duties as the 25th Commandant of the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on 16 March 2023 during a Simple ceremony held at the Regimental Centre, Ambepussa.
The new Commandant was honoured in a Guard Turnout on his arrival and ushered to the new office by the senior officers. Afterwards, amidst religious blessings, an official document was signed symbolically to mark his new office.
Meantime , in a special gesture Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, Quarter Master General and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR congratulated to the newly appointed centre commandant in his office.
Just after assuming office, He paid floral tributes to the memory of fallen SLSR War Heroes and saluted their bravery followed by planting a sapling to mark this significant day.
Subsequently, Brigadier Chaminda Tibbotuge addressed the troops and explains his vision and objectives towards the betterment of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and Army as a disciplined, well-trained professional cadre.
Senior Officers, Colonel Vajira Amarasiri, Deputy Centre Commandant RHQ SLSR, Staff Officers of RHQ SLSR, Officers and Other Ranks were present on the occasion.
