Beekeeping Awareness Workshop Conducted at Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.

A beekeeping awareness workshop was successfully conducted on 7 April 2026 at the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, organized for soldiers to enhance their knowledge and skills in apiculture.

The programme was held under the guidance of the Master General Ordnance and Colonel of the Regiment, Major General AMC Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc. Resource persons Mr. D.R.U. Thissa Thambawita, Secretary of the Bee Resource Conservation Organization, and professional beekeeper Mr. Nuwan Keerthi delivered informative sessions covering both theoretical and practical aspects of beekeeping.

Over 35 other ranks representing all battalions and the Regimental Centre participated in the workshop. The event included a series of lectures along with hands-on activities to provide practical exposure.

The workshop was closely supervised by the Commandant of the Regimental Centre, Brigadier PMS Karunaratne psc, along with other senior officers, who ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.
