Sinha Regiment warriors were awarded with Rana Soora Padakkama by Security Forces Commander Wanni, Competent Authority for Displaced Persons and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Major General Boniface Perera at a graceful ceremony held at Regimental Centre of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment at Ambepussa on 14th December 2013.
Many Senior Officers, Officers, senior Non Commissioned Officers and Other Ranks participated for this prideful event along with children and parents of deceased Sinha warriors.
177 Officers and 1592 Other Ranks who belonged to Sinha Regiment, the only Rifle Regiment in the Sri Lanka Army which has a proud history of 57 years who have shown bravery in the face of enemy during previous humanitarian operation and during pervious operations received \"Rana Soora Padakkama\". 275 Medals of \"Rana Soora Padakkama\" to deceased war heroes were awarded to their NOKs.
As per the vision of Colonel of the Regiment, 55 children of deceased Sinha Warriors received scholarships including the son of Captain SCU Liyanage.
Commander 54 Division Major General Maithree Dias and many other senior officers of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment participated for the event.
