8 SLSR Joined Hands with of Japanese School of Tokyo Web donates Computers

As a continuation of social welfare activities initiated by Commanding Officer 8 Sri Lanka Siha Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel D C S K Athukorala and troops of 8 SLSR in collaboration with the Japanese School of Tokyo Web organized a donation of computer accessories to the needy children on 8th November 2021.

On account of commemorating its 29th anniversary, they distributed Laptops, Multimedia systems with screen and school accessories for students at Children’s village of Sri Bodhiraja and St. Johns Children’s home at Beragala, Kegalle area.

In view of enhancing the knowledge on Information Technology of underprivileged children in the area, the Commanding Officer stepped forward to coordinate this programme with the benevolence of the Japanese School of Tokyo Web.

With its social welfare funds, the Japanese School of Tokyo Web sponsored donating 1 laptop, a Multimedia system with a Screen, and a pack of school accessories for each school.

The occasion of donating these items took place during a brief ceremony organized by the troops of 8 SLSR and was graced by the Commander 611 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier L A J L B Udowita along with CO 8 SLSR, Lieutenant Colonel D C S K Athukorala.

School authorities together with the teachers and the student representatives of benefited schools were present on the occasion.
