249 RECRUITS PRODUCES TO THE REGULAR FORCE OF THE ARMY

A training centre for recruits, Regimental centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, held its 68th Passing out Parade at Ambepussa recently (14). The chief guest of the passing out parade was Col PASP Wijayagunathilake USP, the Deputy Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. A total of newly recruited 249 soldiers consists with 125 soldiers of Sinha Regiment and 124 Soldiers of Mechanized Infantry Regiment, having successfully completed their recruit course received their merit awards in a colourful passing-out ceremony last week. A Guard of Honour saluted the Chief Guest on arrival at the camp premises after he was welcomed by the Lt Col AMC Abeykoon RWP RSP Staff Officer 1 (Admin). The Parade Commander was Maj DPCW Silva (Chief Instructor of the Training Wing) and Sinha Regiment band with their rhythmic beats orchestrated the ceremony. The Chief Guest awarded the trophies, shields and merit awards for the winners. The award for the best recruit was awarded to S/2062875 Rec Samarakoon SMMPB. Chief Instructor, Officer Instructors and other rank instructors threw their full weight behind the successful completion of the Course.
