1ST COMMANDANT AT PUTTALAM RECRUIT TRAINING SCHOOL TAKES OFFICE

Lieutenant Colonel K.M.D.I.P Kamalgoda of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on Friday (6) assumed duties as the 1st Commandant of the Puttalam-based Army Recruit Training School during a simple ceremony.

The Recruit Training School was recently upgraded on the directions of the Commander of the Army following recommendation of the Directorate of Army Training, enabling it to admit more than 1500 recruits at a time for training.

Adding a historic memory to his appointment, the 1st Commandant of the School planted a sapling in the compound and inaugurated his office after placing his signature for a formal document.
