15 SLSR Builds New House Handed Over to Disable Army Soldier

As a part of the ongoing housing project of the Sri Lanka Army in keeping with instructions that have been issued by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army, a new house built by the troops of 15 Volunteer Battalion, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was vested in the disabled war hero Lance Corporal D. M. C Shirantha of 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment by Major General Kithsiri Liyanage, General Officer Commanding 11 Division and Colonel of the Regiment SLSR on 10th December 2021 during a simple warming ceremony and handed over the key to the recipient.

Financial grants provided jointly by the Directorate of Veterans Affairs and the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment enabled the 15 SLSR troops to erect this house valued 1.5 million considering the needs of the family members of the disabled War Hero who was living in Mahakumbukgollewa, Punewa, Medawachchiya.

Centre Commandant SLSR Brigadier Wiraj Wimalasena, Staff Officers of the RC SLSR, Commanding Officer 15 SLSR Major R M J A B Rajapaksha, Soldiers and family members of the beneficiary were present in the event.
