11 SLSR Troops Add Their Share to ‘Poson Poya’ in Kattankudy area

Coincident with the ‘Poson Poya’ Day, 11 (V) SLSR under the 231 Infantry Brigade conducted a series of programmes under the supervision of Major DMN Pathmasiri, Commanding Officer, 11 (V) SLSR.

For the beginning of the programmes, Bodhi Pooja was conducted on 02 June 2023 and added glamour and colourfulness to the commemoration of Poson with a competition of innovative and colourful Lanterns on 03,04 June 2023. As dusk fell, the Brigade Commander, 231 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier WMNKD Bandara RWP RSP USP psc as the chief guest switched on Poson illuminations of the competition. This was the maiden experience for the people around the area.

In addition, free eatery stall (Rice Dansela) as one more segment of the Poson Programmes was conducted on 03,04 June 2023 and more than 3000 people in and around the area enjoyed the free treat of the stall.
