Maj. Gen. HLVM Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka National Guard, visited the Regiment Center on 06 February 2022.
This is Major General Vikum Liyanage's first official visit to the SLNG Regiment after assuming duties as Chief of Staff and was received by the Brigadier Shean Gunawardhane RSP KSP - Centre Commandant of SLNG.
A floral wreath was laid at the SLNG War Heroes' monument in memory of the fallen war heroes. Regiment paid homage to Chief of Staff by presenting a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honor at the Regimental Centre. Addressing all the troops, the chief guest briefed the tasks to be performed by the regiment for the betterment of the regiment and also participated in an all Ranks tea party.
The simple but dignified ceremony, which was held in accordance with the health guidelines issued for the prevention of Covid 19, was attended of the Council members, Regimental staff officers, Commanding Officers and few other ranks.
