Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka National Guard, Major General Rasika Fernado made his formal maiden visit to the SLNG Regimental Headquarters on Saturday 13 June 2020 upon assumption of office.
On arrival at the main entrance, he was warmly welcomed by Brigadier KM Thilakarathna Centre Commandant - RC SLNG.The day’s Chief Guest was greeted to a Guard Turnout at the entrance to the premises soon after his arrival in accordance with military traditions.
The day’s formalities at the SLNG Headquarters added more significance as the visiting DCOS was invited to plant a Naa sapling and took time off to speak to a cross section of the gathering troops and shared a couple of thoughts with them.
Subsequently, the DCOS shared a cup of tea with all ranks along with the Senior Officers, Commanding Officers and finally addressed all officers as well as the entire staff of RHQ who were there to greet him.
