Inventions competitions were organized for the year 2017 by Research, Analysis projection and Development Branch of the Army in liaison with Security Force Headquarters in order to uplift the innovative competence of Army members.259 innovation projected by Army personal through Security Force Headquarters were favorably recognized by the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission and 26 Army inventions were presented to be on display at “Sahasak Nimavum-2017” National Inventions Exhibition, which was held from 28 to 30 September 2017. Over 400 inventors had presented their inventions to the exhibition and out of those, 26 Army inventors had submitted their inventions in the “Open” category.
2nd National Celebration of the Inventors Day was held on 26 October 2017 at BMICH. Major W A S Prasad of Sri Lanka National Guard was felicitated at the event in view of his invention which secured 2nd place of the competition and was awarded a Silver medal, certificate along with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.00.
