Troops of 19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) serving in the general area Nallathanni quickly reacted to control the spread of a garbage-slide on Saturday (21) in ‘MahagiriDaba’ and ‘WelamitaWanguwa’ areasclose to the Sri Pada premises.
This prompt action to attend the emergency and assisting the control of the situation was done after being informed of the developing situation in relation to the garbage-slide by Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C).
Further, a contingent of 40 soldiers were mobilized to the affected area in order to respond in any resultant contingency.
