SLNG Inter Battalion powerlifting, weighlifting and karate competition got underway on 26 and 27 April 2017 at the Anuradhapura Municipal Council Indeoor Stadium on agrand scale under the guidance of Colonel of the Regiment, Maj Gen A P De Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc.
The championship of powerlifting was bagged by 12 SLNG, 4 SLNG became the runners –up whilst 14 SLNG became the third. 4,15 and 24 SLNG clinehed the co-title in Weightlifting category, 18 SLNG became the runners whilst 9 and 26 SLNG ranked 3rd in weightlifting category. 19 SNLG bagged the Championship in Inter Battalion Karate competitionafter a tedious battle and 5 SLNG who had bagged the title in 5 consecutive occasions previously, was placed 2 nd, giving the 3rd place to 14 SLNG.
Deputy Centre Commandant Colonel JANKJayamanna RWP graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the event was attended by General Staff Officer I of the Regimental Centre, Lt Col G A M Wickramasinghe, Unit Commanding Officers and many participants.
