ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SPELL OF REGIMENTAL COUNCIL MEETING CONCLUDED WITH HIGH RETURNS.

The Regimental Council Meeting of SLNG presided by the incumbent Colonel of the Regiment, Major General A P De Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc was held on 20 October 2017 at the auditorium,SLNG Regimental Centre.

The regimental council is assembled quarterly as instructed by Colonel of the Regiment and it is worth noting that the regiment is in a successful progressive march with the far-sighted leadership of its chief.

A number of proactive decisions were made in view of regimental upliftment in time to come.

The Council Meeting was presided by Colonel of the Regiment Major General Piyal Wickramaratne and got underway with the presence senior council members, Commandant MSTS Brigadier PML Chandrasiri WWV RWP RSP, Centre Commandant Brigadier DHMWB Thammita, Comd 593 Bde Colonel UD Wijesekara RWP RSP USP psc, Deputy Centre Commandant Colonel KAWNH Bandaranayake USP, Col Co-ord SF HQ (J) Colonel SB Kohona, Commandant VFTS Colonel AJ Gunawardana RSP, Commandants Bn Trg Sch (Kanagarayankulam) Lieutenant Colonel DS Senanayake SLNG, SO I (AQ) 14 Div, Lieutenant Colonel NHJM Nawaratne SLNG, SO I(AQ) 68 Div, Lieutenant Colonel DGW De Silva SLNG, CAO 52 Div, Lieutenant Colonel NUJS Gunawardena SLNG and CAO 68 Div, Lieutenant Colonel WMAM Nissanka SLNG.

On the sidelines of the council meeting, the Colonel of the Regiment delivered a resourceful presentation focusing on SL Army history, its dynamic transformation over the passage of time including its present organization and currant extensive engagement of the army in nation building endeavors.

The valued presentation by the Colonel of the Regiment was witnessed by council members, Regiment staff officers , representative officers from Regimental Headquarters Battalion, 1 SLNG and 10 SLNG.
