Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka National Guard, Major General A P De Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc paid a visit to 17 SLNG on 26th May 2017. A Guard Turnout was accorded in honour of the visiting Colonel of the Regiment followed by a troop address by Major General Wickramaratne.\r\n\r\nThe Newly Constructed Warrant Officers/Sergeants’ Mess was declared open by the Colonel of the Regiment where a tea was hosted following the event. \r\n\r\nOn the premise of upholding 5S concept among troops in order to ensure systematical functioning of the unit, souvenirs were awarded to sections practicing 5S methodology as a concept of Commanding Officer 17 SLNG, Major D R Tharukarathna. Accordingly, the Other Ranks of IT Section had been selected as the best section of practicing 5S concept and they were gifted with a memento by the Colonel of the Regiment. \r\n\r\nThe Sandalwood sapling was planted to mark this visit of the Colonel of the Regiment. Deputy Centre Commandant Colonel JMRNK Jayamanna RWP and a section of Regimental Staff Officers were also present at the proceedings.
