The prize-awarding ceremony of Inter Regiment Sports Championship was held on Wednesday (4) at Panagoda Army Indoor Stadium, graced by Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army as the Chief Guest.
Adhering to the instructions given by Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka National Guard PACES Team gained an overwhelming victory and championed at the battle contested by 24 Regiments of Sri Lanka Army. One million cash cheque was awarded with the champions’ trophy to The Guardians Team.
Guardians Judo Team was crowned as champions and is worth noting that Sri Lanka National Guard could grab the Army Judo title for 19 years consecutively by wining open division, novices division and team championship.
Guardian's Power lifting team also became the champion in the Inter Regiment Power Lifting Tournament 2022.
The winners of National Guard had the privilege of receiving their trophies from Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage Commander of the Army and Colonel of the Regiment.
