SLNG EMERGED CHAMPIONS AT ARMY INTER REGIMENT DRILL AND PACE STICK COMPETITION.
Surpassing all other regiments, SLNG secured the 1st place at Army Inter Regiment Drill and Pace Stick Competition which got underway from 17.10.2016 to 24.10.2016 at the parade ground of 6th Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment. The event culminated on 23.11.2016 at Panagoda and Sri Lanka National Guard was accorded with Army Flag, Certificates and medals by the Secretary Defence and Commander of the Army, who graced the last day of the competition, in recognition of their stupendous skills evinced at the event. Further, SLNG Drill team made history by securing the places of Best Drill Platoon commander, Best Drill Team, Best Drill Instructor and Best Pace Stick Team.
To coincide with the triumphs of the Regimental Drill Team, a certificate Awarding Ceremony followed by tea was held at the SLNG Regimental Centre under the auspices of the Colonel of the Regiment, Maj Gen A P de Z Wickramaratne RWP ndu psc on 26.11.2016.
The event was attended by Council Members, Centre Commandant, Deputy Center Commandant, Commanding Officers, 2nd In Command, all officers and other ranks at the Regimental Centre.
