SLNG COMMANDING OFFICERS AND SECONDS - IN - COMMAND TRAINING WORKSHOP
A one day training to uplift professional competence of Commanding Officers and Seconds in Command, got underway at the Regimental Centre on a novel concept of Colonel of the Regiment – SLNG Maj Gen AP de Z Wickramrathne RWP ndu psc .
The same workshop was consecutively conducted on 3 days 18,21 and 27 July 2017, due to practical difficulties of congregating all the Senior Officers on a single day.
Skilled lecturers specialized in different fields contributed to make the events a resounding success, which was attended by Senior Officers both serving with in the Regiment and working on Extra Regimental Employment.
A worthwhile lecture on ‘Social Etiquette’ was conducted by GSO I Regimental Centre SLSC, Lt Col NPA Mendis psc, and Lt Col OR Rajasinghe SLAGS, SO I Dte of B & FM, delivered a valuable lecture on how to improve the efficiency of ‘Procurement Procedure’. A presentation session focusing on Public Speaking , Presentation Skills and Toast Speech, was done by Head of the Language Department SLMA , Lt Col Kelum Wickramasinghe SLAGSC. A timely significant lecture on P&R procedure was conducted by SO II, Dte of P&R Maj ALAI Pieris SLAGSC. The programme was well coordinated by Regtl Senior Council Member, Col SRB Aluvihare RWP RSP psc, in arranging the veteran lecturers. Centre Comdt Brig DHMWB Thammita and the Dy Centre Comdt Col JMRNK Jayamanna RWP, paid their maximum attention, for the success of the workshop.
Mementoes were presented in recognition of valuable contribution rendered by the expert lecturers on the concluding day. Regimental Centre SLNG, wishes to especially convey a note of approbation to Colonel of the Regiment for directing and leading the Regtl Staff in arranging a wkshop of this type for the 1st time of the history of the Regt, and to Military Secretariat Br ,Dte of P&R ,SLMA, and to Regimental Centre SLSC for their praiseworthy assistance in organizing the event.
