In celebration of World Children’s Day, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) organized a vibrant and heart-warming programme on 04 October 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters, Kurunegala.
This meaningful event was held under the initiative and guidance of the Colonel of the Regiment, Major General P K W W M J S B W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, and aimed at bringing joy, love, and laughter to the children and families of the SLNG Regimental Centre and battalions,living around the Kurunegala area.
The programme featured a series of fun-filled games, entertainment events, and musical performances, creating an atmosphere of excitement and happiness. Children actively participated in all activities, enjoying a day filled with smiles and memorable moments. To mark the occasion, special gifts were presented to all participating children, while tea and an exclusive lunch were served for both children and their parents, adding warmth and togetherness to the day.
In parallel to the celebration, the Seva Vanitha Branch also extended a thoughtful gesture by donating packets of coconut milk powder to parents, demonstrating its continuous commitment to family welfare and community support.
The event was graced by the President of the SLNG Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Kumarie Pallekumbura, as the Chief Guest, whose presence and kind interaction with the children made the day even more special. Senior members of SLNG Seva Vanitha Branch, Several senior officers,officers including the Colonel of the Regiment and the Centre Commandant, also attended the programme, further highlighting the unity and care within the SLNG family.
This memorable celebration truly reflected the spirit of compassion and togetherness, emphasizing the SLNG Seva Vanitha Branch’s dedication to uplifting the lives of the families and children of the Regiment.
