The Army Inter Regiment Judo championship - 2016 got underway in a grand scale from 20th to 25th November 2016 at the Panagoda Army cantonment Gymnasium. SLNG Judo Team also took part in the competition. It is worth noting that Sri Lanka National Guard could grab the Army Judo Title from 2002 to 2015 consecutively. Remarkably, Guardians won the Army Judo Title this year for the 15th time. The 1st place under 55Kg weight class was secured by S/Q109184 Pte Premarathna WHP and S/Q104713 Pte Thennakoon TMCPK won the 2nd place of the category. The 1st place under 66Kg weight class was won by S/Q101728 Pte Chandana Kumara HMC.
S/18Q00889 L/Cpl Senewirathna and S/18Q00808 L/Cpl Wimal Jayalath who competed under weight class 81 Kg were placed 1st and 3rd respectively. Further, S/Q104661 Pte Dissanayaka DMP grabbed the crowd\'s attention by winning the 1st place in open Apprentice category. Certificates and medals were given away to players who showed their talents and Championship in team events was won by the Sri Lanka National Guard and they were awarded the title Army Judo Title - 2016 the prize Awarding Ceremony.
