Athugalpura Asala Asiriya 2014

Athugalpura Asala Asiriya 2014, an Asala Festival was held on 11th, 12th and 13th of July 2014 at Maligapitiya Ground in Kurunegala. The festival was a conceptualized by Major General Udaya Perera, Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka National Guard and other senior officers of the Regiment. The festival was embellished with beautiful lanterns and a \"Bathi Gee\" concert. Lanterns were created by the officers and soldiers of the Regiment. The Pandol the med \"Kali Yakshani\", which was created by officers and soldiers of Security Force in Jaffna, dazzled the festival. A specialty was that technical operation of Panadol was shown to everyone and the story of Pandol was available in both Sinhala and English medium. It was highly appreciated by the people. An \"Osu Pan Dansala\" was held on all three day and people who visited the Asala zone were served with the Osu Pan. The theme of the festival was \"Athugalpurayai DahamAmawai\" and large number of people visited the site. On the first day, 11th of July 2014, the festival was held in the midst of Pirith Chanting which was held with participation of 150 Bhikkus and under the patronage of Hons. Dayasiri Jayasekara, the Chief Minister of North Western Province and distinguished gathering and Major General Udaya Perera , Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka National Guard and other senior officers of the regiment.
