The distribution of study materials and essential items to Sputnik Girls Home Kurunegala, took place on Sunday (03).
Mrs Janaki Liyanage, President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) and Chairperson of the Gajaba Regiment and Sri Lanka National Guard Seva Vanitha Branch, at the invitation of Guardians Seva Vanitha Members graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
On her arrival, children of girls home offering a bouquet of flowers welcomed the day’s Chief Guest. Mrs Janaki Liyanage lit the traditional lamp with others to inaugurate the day’s proceedings. Children of girls home showed their talents with colourful entertaining events.
The Chief Guest donated essential items worth of 1 million including stationaries, study materials, personal hygiene items, dry ration for one month and electrical items with LED TV on the occasion. Also, the event concludes with a delicious lunch to the children and staff of the girls home. The Centre Commandant and all officers of the Regimental Centre attended to the occasion.
