Expanding the welfare activities carried out by the Seva Vanitha SLEME branch, according to the concept of the Honorary President Seva Vanitha SLEME Branch, Mrs. Nandanee Samarakoon, with the aim of empowering the people who live in rural regions and supporting their lives, Books with stationaries donation programe was organised at Sigiriya Ilukwewa Kanishta Vidyalaya, a rural school in Polonnaruwa area. These gift packs worth more than four Hundred thousand rupees were distributed among all pupils receiving education from the school on 08th March 2024.
This generous donation took place with the participation of the Deputy Chief of Staff of Sri Lanka Army, and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of EME, Maj Gen SPAIMB Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc, a large number of SLEME Seva Vanitha branch members, Senior Officers, Officers, teaching Staff, School Children and their parents.
The 3rd Battalion SLEME and SLEME (Artillery) Battalion collaboratively organized the programme as an activity in the annual seva vanitha EME calendar of events.
