On October 16, 2023, a momentous event unfolded at the RHQ SLEME premises, as Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers gathered to honor the outstanding sports achievements of their sportsmen throughout the year. Commencing at 0900hrs, the event commenced with a warm reception led by the Commander Army Logistics Command and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of EME, Maj Gen SPAIMB Samarakoon Hdms Lsc, along with the Centre Commandant Brig C Kalutharaarachchi, Deputy Centre Commandant Colonel PDLAC Sirisena RSP Lsc, Senior Officers, officers and other ranks.

captured attention as they demonstrated exceptional skill in 400 X 4 relay event at the 19th Asian Athletic Meet in China. Their remarkable achievements were not only acknowledged but also rewarded with gift vouchers, a token of appreciation for their unwavering dedication.
The celebration continued with accolades for the SLEME swimming and water polo teams, triumphing in both the inter-regiment swimming championship and the inter-regiment water polo championship.
SLEME chess team, led by the skilled guidance of Captain Maj MKCK Moragoda was appreciated for triumphant return, securing the inter-regiment chess championship after a five-year break. The culmination of the event featured a grand tea party, underscoring the jubilant atmosphere as participants shared in the joy of their collective triumphs. Finally, winning teams assembled for group photographs in front of the RHQ office complex.
