'Manusath Derana' of TV "Derana" launched its 61st programme with the assistance of Sri Lanka Army Electrical & Mechanical Enginners Seva Vanitha Branch at the SLEME Base Workshop - Udawalawa on 29 July 2023 with several community programmes for the benifit of serving and retird SLEME soldiers, civil staff and a large crowd of locals in the area. Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit graced the occasion as the chief guest together with Mrs. Nandani Samarakoon, Chairperson of SLEME Seva Vanitha Branch and Mr. Mahesh Jayawardena, Chairman of 'Manusath Derana'
Furthermore, under the full supervision of the SLEME Seva Vanitha Branch a house was donated to S/2M00553 Cpl Thilakarathne M who has retired after serving under Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers living without a permanent house by the president of Army Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Janakee Liyanage. The owner of “Amila Tire House” contributed the financial donation and the soldiers of SLEME Base Workshop UDW given their labor contribution.
