To mark the Sinhala and Tamil New Year of 2023, "Seethawaka Bakmaha Udanaya - 2023" was organized jointly by the Headquarters Army Log Command, Corps of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and SLEME Seva Vanitha Branch at Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Industrial Workshop - Kosgama on Friday, 21.04.2023.
Seethawaka Bakmaha Udanaya – 2023 was organized to promote Harmony, Values, Attitudes and Interrelationships with the participation of the Senior Officers, Officers, ORs, Civil Servants and their beloved family members. The Commander Army Logistics Command and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Major General SPAIMB Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc and Mrs. Nandanee Samarakoon the President SLEME Seva Vanitha Branch Graced the event as the Chief Guests. It was started with the lighting of coconut oil lamp.
There were number of traditional game events giving priority to the Sinhalese traditions. Aurudu Kumaraa, Aurudu Kumariya , breaking the pots, eyeing the elephant, coconut leaves weaving, coconut-scraping, fancy dress event, playing musical chairs, Slow Bike Ride, Grease Pole Climbing, pillow challenge, Tug of War, Balloon Dance, Bun Eating, sack race, lime-on-spoon race and many interesting traditional games were included. A large number of Competitors participated in those events very enthusiastically.
At the end of the all traditional games, valuable prizes and cash prizes offered to the winners.
