Colonel DIS Jayasinghe psc, the newly-appointed Commandant of the School of EME assumed duties on Thursday (24) at the School of EME during a simple and solemn ceremony.
A formal Guard Turnout of the School of EME troops saluted the new Commandant upon his arrival at the School of EME premises before he was ushered to the office. Afterwards, amid religious blessings, he placed his signature for an official document and symbolized the acceptance of his new responsibilities.
Later, he was invited to plant a sapling in the compound as a symbol of memory, along with several senior officers. After a while, he addressed officers and other ranks and explained his vision for the smooth conduct of affairs at the School of EME.
