With parallel to the Vesak festival, Seva Vanitha SLEME Branch organized a spectacle distribution event with the vision of the Honorary President of Seva Vanitha SLEME Branch, Mrs. Nandani Samarakoon and at her special request with the sponsorship contribution of DS Jayasinghe Optical Pvt Ltd, a leading optical company in the island. The spectacle distribution program was organized on 17 May 2024 at SLEME Regimental Centre premises.
This noble humanitarian care program was conducted by the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Base Workshop - Colombo to check eyes and provide family members of EME Soldiers with high-quality spectacles free of charge to 100 members with various visual impairments.
The Director of DS Jayasinghe Optical Company, Mr. Palitha Jayasinghe, the medical staff of that institution and a large number of Executive members and Members of Seva Vanitha SLEME branch as well as senior officers including the Centre Commandant, Officers, ORs and their family members participated this event.
