Corps of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers during its Diners’ Club interactive meeting at the Regimental Officers’ Mess on 15 September had Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe, The Governor – Central Bank of Sri Lanka, as the guest speaker on 'Current economic crisis’.
It was organized parallel to the Officers training day program on the guidence given by Major General Indu Samarakoon, The Commander, Army Logistics Command and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers with the objective of broadening horizons of knowledge of SLEME officers on the current situation in the country.
The lecture focused on reasons behind the present economic crisis, how it effect to different level of people, actions have been taken to overcome, actions to be taken in future and the role of Army in this critical situation followed by an interactive questions and answers session.
The Commander, Army Logistics Command and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Major General SPAIMB Samarakoon Lsc Hdmc, The Director General Ordnance Services Major General GKI Vithanarachchi ATO, The Director Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Brig JARSK Jayasekara USP psc, The Director Budget and Financial Management Brigadier RPS Padmashantha Lsc, The Director Movement Brig KLSS Liyanagama RWP RSP, The Officiating Director Army Benevolent Fund Col NASC Perera, and a large gathering of Senior Officers, Officers gathered knowledge this rare occasion.
