A farewell ceremony was hosted in honour of retiring Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers,Major General Duminda Sirinaga on 08 January 2021 at the Regimental Centre ,Colombo 2, upon his retirement from the Army after completion over 35 years of service. On his arrival at the regimental headquarters premises, Centre Commandant, Brigadier Nilam Herath welcomed the Chief Guest and invited him to review the Guard Turnout and Parade presented by the troops, in accordance with military traditions followed by a troop address and an all ranks Tea with the participation of the Other Ranks. The Senior Officers including the Brigadier Indu Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc together with all officers and Other Ranks of the SLEME joined the ceremony and extended their heartfelt gratitude to the retiring senior officer for his commitment and dedication to the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
Later, In the evening gracious farewell dinner hosted to the outgoing Deputy Chief of Staff and the Cololnel Commandant of SLEME Major General Duminda Sirinaga and the President SLEME Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs.Priadarshani Sirinaga at the regimental officers mess with the participation of officers and their spouses.The documentary presentation was conducted by the Brig HMHN Herath- Centre Commandant -RHQ SLEME for appreciation of the service rendered towards to Corps of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanicl Engineeers and to the Sri Lanka Army.Finally ,All the senior officers including Director of EME Brigadier Indu Samarakon Hdmc Lsc and other senior officers ,officers together with their lady wives wished him and his family healthy and happy retirement life.
