Wheel alignment section of Medium Workshop - 1SLEME is located in Panagoda was declared open on 10th April 2018 by the Director of EME and Colonel Commandant SLEME Brigadier MAAD Sirinaga. The implementation of the section was finished after some reconstructions and calibrating of computer operated systems under the supervision of the present Commanding Officer of the Battalion, Maj KCC Mendis Lsc SLEME
There was a huge demand for a wheel alignment section for EME Medium Workshop Panagoda since there was no any other place to fulfill wheel aligning requirements except Base workshop Colombo, which was also fully committed for the vehicle repairs of Army HQ.The newly opened wheel alignment section consists with a wheel aligning machine and a wheel balancing machine and which comes to the repairs related to Steering, Suspension and Tire damages. It is an absolute requirement to check the wheel alignment before and after such repairs to maintain the quality and the validity of the repair. With the use of a wheel aligning machine troubleshooting and rectifying steering, suspension and tire related issues can be done much more accurately.Therefore, by implementing a new Wheel Aligning section at the Medium Workshop Panagoda, is excepted to uplift the standard of vehicle repairs in future, in the perspective of releasing quality and high standard vehicles to the Army organizations of SFHQ West.
