DCOS MAKES HIS FIRST VISIT TO HIS MOTHER REGIMENT

The newly-appointed Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army, Major General SPAIMB Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc upon his assumption of new office at the Army Headquarters made his first courtesy visit to his mother regiment, Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) Headquarters at Colombo 02 on 15 December 2023.

He is also the ‍4th Deputy Chief of Staff, produced by the SLEME. The Centre Commandant SLEME, Brigadier C Kalutharaarachchi warmly welcomed Major General Indu Samarakoon on arrival and invited him to review the Guard Turn Out at the main entrance.

Afterwards, a Guard of Honour salute at the parade ground honoured him in accordance with military traditions. A few minutes later, he addressed officers and extended his sincere gratitude to all past and present senior officers, other officers and the soldiers of the SLEME for paving way for his today’s success which was filled with many moments of hardships, challenges and happy moments, too.

The Deputy Chief of Staff was also invited for a group photograph at the officers’ mess and all Officers interacted with the newly appointed Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant of Corps of SLEME, during an All Rank tea arrangement at the Officers’ Mess towards the end of the ceremony.

Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the SLEME extended their best wishes to the new Deputy Chief of Staff.
