The 74th anniversary of Corps of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers was proudly celebrated on 12th December 2023 at the SLAEMEF - Kosgama. The Chief Guest of the Anniversary Celebration was the Comd Army Logistics Comd and the Col Comdt of Corps of EME Major General SPAIMB Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc. The Chief Guest, Major General SPAIMB Samarakoon was warmly welcomed by the Centre Comdt RHQ SLEME and offered a guard turn out at the entrance. Then EME troops accorded a parade composed of 12 Officers and 225 Other Ranks, representative of all Battalions in the Regiment.
After that, the newly built ORs’ Mess was unveiled and opened with a commemorative plaque by the Maj Gen SPAIMB Samarakoon. Then he joined a planting of sapling as a symbol of memory and appeared in an official group photo.
On the occasion of the anniversary, an all ranks lunch was held in the newly constructed ORs’ Mess. In the evening of that day, a musical concert was also held with the participation of all ranks. A large number of senior officers, officers and other ranks of the regiment, participated in the anniversary celebrations.
